I remember the hard times like dialing a phone number on a rotary phone. It took like ten to fifteen seconds to dial a number. Barbaric.

I do enjoy doing the September songs, I am surprised that there are so many versions of September in the Rain. I do have my got to do songs(Neil Diamond & Earth Wind & Fire), but with Wake Me Up When September Ends on 1 October, well time to go to musical sleep on this forum.

"that's the only good song on the jukebox." Some things you just remember.

She's about my present age.

"What's that on the radio? It's terrible. That's not music. It's too loud."

Who's singing that"

Waitress: (On her way to change the station or lower the volume.) "That's Rod Stewart."

Woman: "I like Rod Stewart. Leave it alone."

My first job (which is a long story) was teaching. This was what the clock radio alarm played for me every morning to get myself up and going. When I hear it, I am there in rural SC, in that ratty trailer getting ready to try. I did not drink coffee then, that took four years later when I was in nursing school and had to be at clinicals at 0645, dressed in my little uniform, able to tell my instructor something meaningful. After having studied until late the night before.

Ate a bowl of cereal just to put something on my stomach. Husband had his yogurt and banana earlier, as well as two of the biscuits left over from yesterday hours ago, then deciding he was still hungry, made himself a poached egg with cheese on an English muffin. lots of coffee, of course.

This song came out my last year in catholic school. Long before the well known phenomenon of the Streisand Effect, the nuns were railing at us about this song, as well as Simon and Garfunkel's Cecilia, because they reference two unmarried people sleeping together. Of course, we took this as all the endorsement we needed and all ran out and bought the 45s.

So 1/2 of a low carb bagel with non-dairy cream cheese. A couple of ounces of smoked sausage, and a small salad.

I know--I'm weird about salad for breakfast, but I was a shift worker for a long time. When "dinnertime" is 8 a.m. because you got off work at 7:30, you stop caring about what you're eating when. It's all good.

we have a couple people here who specialize in nontraditional breakfasts.

BTW, welcome to our breakfast and dinner threads.

I didn't have breakfast, but I'm going to Panera now. Might just be lunch at this point. If they have broccoli soup and half a sandwich, that's what I'll get. Might even sit outside, though it's a little chilly here.
