Good to have the articles about the stupid remarks of Whole Foods John Mackey on NPR about the ACA as fascism. When Whole Foods came to Boulder a long time ago we protested its labor practices and felt we made a difference in local stores. It is packed every day here even though it's by far the most expensive grocery. But I won't be shopping there anymore unless Mackey changes his "libertarian" practices. (Not just because they're way over my budget and despite they have the best lobster bisque). We're lucky to have good natural grocers Sprouts, Alfalfas, and Lucky's.

But that's rare - maybe 3 times a year - and I can easily skip it.
I think there's two or three stores we could go to instead. Take more time, but we'll see.

(11,243 posts)To bad I won't be shopping there. Seriously. If I am going to pay $6 for grapes, I want to feel that at least part of my money is going toward a decent employee health plan. We have two local health/gourmet chains and Trader Joe's, plenty of other places for me to spend my money that take good care of their people.

(2,012 posts)News was that Trader Joe's would be opening this summer in Boulder but hasn't been started and old Applebee's hasn't been raised as yet. Some doubts, I think, about the awful traffic and parking at 28th and Walnut. The TJ's in Denver seems to be on track.
