I think it's going to be lemon-tahini sauce over whole grains, meaning barley and kamut.
I had a fabulous first-of-the season barbecue last night and I'd like to share a grill-cleaning tip. This is so easy and it really works.
Just cover the dirty grill with aluminum foil, shiny side down. Put it over the hot coats for 15". Take it off, let it cool enough until you can brush it with a steel brush, and you will have a clean grill. I then coated mine with vegetable oil.
Instead of an herb-based vinaigrette, I went with an apricot-chipotle marinade that I made myself from a Taste of Home cookbook. It was terrific.

Thanks for the grill cleaning tip and an apricot-chipotle marinade sounds delicious!

I'm still making the effort to cook fish and will do it very rare (raw) again.

(50,130 posts)Can't wait for farmers market Sunday. I got the most gorgeous cherries last week -- a Rainier hybrid. The cherries were huge -- almost the size of small apricots -- and so so sweet. I'm hoping for more, although the cherry crop was damaged this week with a hard rain.

(9,791 posts)The local farm stand opened this morning and they had sweet corn! It's too early for local corn so I'm guessing it was from southern NJ or MD. It was delicious! It's too warm, humid and rainy to grill outside and tomorrow isn't looking much better.
