I actually made this yesterday...... but it turned out so good, I thought I'd mention it here.

Didn't have bamboo shoots ..... so went without. And substituted plain Jane sliced mushrooms for Shitake. Used brown Basmati instead of Jasmin rice (healthier but doesn't taste as good).

I had left over coconut milk that I froze in an ice cube tray. Don't know if this will work, but I thought I'd give it a try.

A little bit of everything - sliced meats, cheeses, bread rounds, sliced veggies, dips, olives, strawberries, etc. etc.

Personally, I'm just as good listening to a game than sitting and watching one. That's my usual mo with baseball. As long as there's a good play-by-play audio, I can futz around and follow the game.

And, like everything these days, there's always video highlights on line.

Oh, go Pats!

Some of my best friends are Pats fans, but my mother live in Denver.

Think I will just pretend like it's not on, which is probably a good idea anyway.

Enjoy!

You could make a grand Denver omelet with Mexican chiles if only you liked eggs.

I will make something else.

I made those Mexican wedding cookies today like you make. They were not nearly as good, though.

And I just finished a big batch of Mexican wedding cookies.

I'm just in a cooking mood today!

That looks like a huge project and I'm glad I'm not there, or I would feel obligated to offer and help.

yesterday I bought a carton of adobo sauce without the chiles as well. I love the taste of it, but the chiles are so hot that I usually use all the sauce and just have chiles left over!

I have learned to be very, very cautious with it.

I just love smoky sauce. You could probably make it at home, if you can get dried chiles.

For years I had ristas in my home, but I am just now learning to work with dried chiles. They are really interesting.

Had a pot luck to attend so I had a bunch of cooked basmati rice that my husband had just made. I had just done some sauteed mushrooms for something else. I decided to use that as my base.

Added an onion cooked to transparency in some olive oil and LOTS of turmeric. Then added chopped upped kale, parsley and a few spices tossed in and stirred all of that into the rice. When I got to the event I stirred in some tex mex smoked gouda I had around as I reheated it.

Turned out to be very popular!
