Question about sugar cookie recipe

A coworker gave me sugar cookie mix as a gift. She had put together the dry ingredients and all I have to add is the egg, butter and vanilla. But I'm having difficulty figuring out how (not much of a cook or baker).

Normally, you put together the butter and sugar, then the dry ingredients, etc. But the sugar is already in.

Plus I don't have a mixer, so this will require elbow grease.

it is a crumbly mess.

Then add the egg and vanilla.

Using your hands is really the best way, imo.

Hope they are good!
