Clarissa Dickson Wright has died....

When I lived in UK, I never missed this TV show--the "Two Fat Ladies" made me laugh. The older of the two, Jenifer, died in 1999, but the younger passed just two days ago.

She was no stranger to controversy, right up until she left this mortal coil!!

.....In "Two Fat Ladies," Dickson Wright and Jennifer Paterson traveled Britain in an old Triumph motorcycle and sidecar, cooking lavish meals inspired by local tradition and trading quips about life, love and food.

The program became a big international hit for the BBC and ran until Paterson died of cancer in 1999, aged 71.

Patricia Llewellyn, who produced the show, said Dickson Wright was "a marvelous cook and hugely knowledgeable about food and food history."

"She was a force of nature and a true character, someone who knew how to tell a great story and had a fabulous sense of humor," Llewellyn said......A supporter of traditional rural pursuits such as fox hunting, Dickson Wright was recently in the news for suggesting that Britons should eat badgers, which were shot in their thousands in a bid to curb bovine tuberculosis.

"It would solve the problem," she said. "There's going to be a cull, so rather than just throw them in the landfill site, why not eat them?"

They were hilarious. What characters.

Oddly, neither one of them made it to a very old age.

2. Too much "buttah" and "fet," not cut with enough olive oil in the Mediterranean style!

Too much meat and not enough veg, as well!

But I did love watching them, even as I ate something from the Tesco's grocer's freezer after a brutal day on the job!
