(2,016 posts)I remember when I first heard "Pump it up" (1978?) at an eighth grade dance, and instantly became a Elvis fan. I was hooked for life.
I'll be cranking these up tonight in the kitchen. Well done!

Taking a little DU break as I prepare for the final chapter in my Dad's life: viewing tonite, church funeral and burial tomorrow. Sad but he was 92 and in failing health, so we celebrate a full life well lived. He was a beloved teacher so I'm getting tons of great memories on FB and expect a crowd at the services.
"That Day is Done", which Elvis wrote to honor his grandmother's death, keeps going through my head. A bit of Elvis trivia, that song appeared on McCartney's "Flowers in the Dirt" (with a couple other Macca/Elvis collaborations) and IMO Elvis was the best songwriting partner Macca ever had who wasn't John Lennon. However, Elvis hated that version of "That Day is Done" and decided to stop the budding partnership at that point.
