(146,218 posts)We are trying to relocate but the weather has been a problem. Hopefully mid-week. I've been putting off my big market visit because I want to be fully provisioned when we leave, but it's just not working out that well.
This afternoon I am eating a Mexican version of boxed mac and cheese, and it is actually quite tasty!

(106,886 posts)Tuna burgers, along with mac 'n cheese, are 2 budget stretchers from my childhood that I still really like. I blend the tuna with finely diced celery and sweet onion, an egg and bread crumbs. Might add some drained, mashed sweet peas to the tuna mix.
Mayo is simply forked blended with curry powder. I like them "open faced" on a bed of Romaine sans bread or roll.
Hummus with red bell pepper scoops.

(2,016 posts)(OK, gyoza from Trader Joe's). I'll make a soy-honey-red pepper dipping sauce to go with it. I'm thinking of putting some shrimp under the broiler, too. And something else, but not sure. I forgot to buy Napa cabbage at the market today, so an asian slaw is out.

(35,619 posts)Those Hungarian pork chops I made were so good, I'm making more.
To go with, sweet potato fries.
For a green, watercress with roasted beets and spicy vinaigrette dressing.
Thanks to Galileo mentioning TJ gyoza, I think I'll make a few of those for an appetizer.

(14,733 posts)We stopped by the butcher's this afternoon, so we had meat so fresh it almost moo'ed at us. A roll, some cheese, a piece of pickle, and that wonderful caramelized flavour, even if I did just deglaze with water, and not anything spicier. Herbed baked redskin wedges for a side.
