Cod in lime-butter sauce.
Also, I wish I could recall who posted the recipe for curried cabbage. I made it and it's absolutely de-lish. Wanted to say "thank you!"

Meant to mention that I read Japple's comment about organizing magazine clip recipes and thought that I could stand to organize my computer print-out recipes, so I did that. Took me 90" and I'm only half done.
However, such a project can lead to culinary self-discovery, LOL.
I discovered I have an obsession, just based on the number of printed out recipes I have for this particular dish:
Apple-Butternut Squash Soup
There must have been nine versions.
I told the RG and he asked me if they were all the same or different. There are a few differences, but not many. I guess I just get a kick out of doing the same thing, over and over again.

(2,016 posts)I made them all, and still I look for new ones. "There's something missing, I'll know what it is when I taste that 15th recipe!!"

(2,016 posts)It's been a while, so I gave myself permission. Not sure if I want to go classic (mashed spuds and gravy) or NE style (fries w/ketchup) yet. I'll decide after beer #2 when I get home. As for the veggies, probably a salad of some kind.

Yes, I have noted your obsession with lamb vindaloo. You thought it was a secret? Not.
Today is my day off, so I've decided to add this to tonight's menu: green bean casserole, only made the Martha Stewart way. No can of soup allowed her way.
It's gray and gloomy here in the northeast, so comfort food is in order.

(146,218 posts)DH loves fish and would eat it everyday. Other than sushi, I'm not a fish fan. Plus it stinks up my pans and kitchen.
But, I've decided to learn how to cook it. I am surrounded by a bounty of caught today fish and it seems a shame.
I don't know what I bought. The guy at the fish counter said something and the label he put on after weighing said "filete de pescado". It looks like a thin filet and is white.
I'm going with the meuniere. Its fast and relatively simple, right? Lightly flour, cook in oil/butter, remove, make brown butter, add lemon. Voila! Right? This is just like your cod, right?

(22,767 posts)which is always a possibility, my guess without Googling is that "filete de pescado" means filet of fish, fish filet.

(146,218 posts)So nice to see you around hippy wife. It's been too long.

(22,767 posts)I just thought it odd that a fishmonger would do that unless what he gave you is simply some sort of run of the mill white fish. It seems similar to a butcher slapping a label that simply says "Beef" on a tenderloin or prime rib roast.
Nice to see you, too!

(146,218 posts)He told me what it was, but I didn't know the word.
This happens to me frequently here and I end up with some very odd things.
