garlic and cumin, and tomato/cucumber salad.

Fresh, deep-red, fragrant strawberries from Florida at Publix today! I won't buy those giant cardboard (hollow) make-believe strawberries from California, but since Florida is a neighbor, we consider their strawberries a local product!

A salad with a little cheese and salami, and stuff from the Mezzetta isle, with a light vinaigrette.

I've realized I have collected way too many marinated items in the fridge, and need to make a dent. (Like, ten 16-oz jars!) My fridge door shelves are one big ad for the vinegar industry.

(I use frozen corn instead of canned. I grind our sausage and we like it on the hot side, so ours is a little spicier than the recipe, plus, I use 2% milk w/strained yogurt instead of half n half. Last, I add my seasonings a couple of minutes before the liquid.)

The bowls came from the bakery of our local Jewel.

When you squash the tiny whole potatoes in your personal bowl, it thickens the stew more. You know it's good when you think you've made just enough for leftovers, but there are none.
