(111,245 posts)otherwise, I'll overeat a bunch of other stuff trying to get rid of it and it never works that way. Being sated or even overstuffed never kills the craving.
The worst has been a fried chicken craving, had that one for about 5 years until Tyson came out with wheat free breaded chicken strips. It's more better living through chemistry than I ordinarily like, but it's putting that craving to rest, at last.

Ma: "Have some fruit."
Me: "But I don't want fruit..."
Ma: "Well, then you're not hungry!"

Something sweet and tart? Try a chilled mango. That's some good stuff, right there.

like my Grrandmother used to do, but every time I think of the meals she made, it is always something so heavy, like sour beef and dumplings, and that is NOT what I am craving.
I thought it was jambalaya, but I made a big ole satisfying mess of it, everyone loved it. Plenty of leftovers, but somehow it did not scratch the itch.
