Been at an all-day conference and had so much to eat there that I don't think I'll eat for the rest of the day.

(35,622 posts)I'm going to put that on my list of summer dinner ideas.
There was food all day long at this event.
Breakfast: muffins, melon and strawberries, croissants, bagels, eggs
Lunch was a buffet, and I can only remember what I had, which was lightly breaded fish. I don't know what kind of fish it was, but the breading had herbs and flecks of pepper. Some type of Asian beef. Chicken, which I can't recall how they fixed. Some type of orzo shrimp dish, which was my overall favorite.
They had a stunning salad bar, but I didn't have a tossed salad since I have that every day at home, and not only that, there's no way theirs could be as fresh as mine, which I cut straight out of the garden. But my colleagues had some, and I must admit it looked fantastic.
The dessert bar offered very light desserts, which I thought interesting. I had a small lemon tarte with a strawberry on it. Also a chocolate mousse in an edible cup.
After lunch we went back to our conference, but in no time at all, thy were serving afternoon snacks! I didn't have any, but on my way out I saw these mozzarella/red pepper/tomato skewers that I wish I'd had.
Anyway, good conference, excellent food; had a great time. Work on this project starts in a couple weeks. It's the perfect summer job; I just have to hang around with college students in the evenings while they write. If they need help, I help them. It's the most stress-free, easy, peaceful job I've ever had.
