What's for Dinner, Mon., Labor Day, 9/5/16

Cold plate of roast beef that was cooked in the slow cooker. I have various sauces to serve with it, such as smoky black pepper A1, chili garlic, Dijon mustard, and wasabi-mayo.

Leftover grilled zucchini, topped with tarragon egg salad.

Broccoli salad, which I made before, but liked the recipe so much I made more. It has cranberries, raisins, toasted walnuts, and chopped red onion in it. Mayo-based salad dressing.

Dessert: cream puffs and cold basil tea.

(I added a lot more spices, bell pepper and a little chicken broth. When it's done, I'll reduce the liquid for the sauce)

Making Protein Plus pasta for my husband, and zuke for me.

Chicken kabobs with cherry tomatoes and onions, ribeye steaks, roasted tri-color bells, roasted corn/cob, roasted broccoli (a new one for me).

It was more a 10th B-day party for my friend's son, but was a great excuse for us adults to have a cookout for us. Much hors d'oeuvres too. We eat like kings, but the kids just wanted takeout pizza. We obliged, all were happy.
