What's for Dinner, Mon., Jan. 9, 2016

Big Asian soup bowls, one with chicken, the other with pork. They have noodles and all kinds of other delicious looking Asian ingredients. Looks like this:

The broth, which I already tried, is very spicy. I think it has coconut milk and peppers in it. The RG bought these at Whole Foods (WF), and also three trays of sushi. One is salmon, the other two are mixed rolls.

For dessert, a couple golden delicious apples with some raisin bread crackers. Also chive-cheese dip to go on top of the crackers.

We're binge watching "Goliath" on Amazon; that's why he went to WF for dinner. No cooking while binge watching!

Bean soup I made the other day and a toasted onion roll with ham, turkey, corned beef and cheeses. I'm considering a tangerine and some sweet tangy cheese for afterwards, although some pumpkin bread is also catching my eye. We will see.

so we tried this one from Rhee Drummond.

?

It came out looking much like the photo, and was not bad at all. I made one change. I used two egg whites rather than four, drained the chicken thoroughly, then shook it in a plastic bag with half a cup of cornstarch before frying.

I still have some potato salad left from yesterday, as well as some 3-bean, so I'll knock those off tonight.

I did brine the chops for a few hours, though.

ps: Cher - that soup looks divine! Reminds me - I need dried shiitake mushrooms...
