What's for Dinner, Tues., Jan 10, 2016

Pasta: Calabrese cavatelli with spicy shrimp. Sauce is tomato made with spicy pepper and capers. Cheese is pecorino that has been washed with white wine.

Vegetables: zucchini, sauteed with butter and onion. Spring onions, sauteed with butter and onion. Broccolini, steamed. Spinach sauteed with garlic.

Entree: Beef ribs with Tuscan crackers.

Wine: Colle Sala 2009 from Montepulciano D'Abruzzo and sparkling water.

Long day at school. So nice to come home to this!

Binge watching is on again; we'll finish the first season of Goliath. Sometimes I love winter.

We're also going Italian here. Aldi sausage with spaghetti and garlic bread for HIM, and baked with mushrooms and mozzarella cheese for little ol' low-carbin' me. Salad. Strawberry-yogurt popsicles for later.

I've been experimenting with the dough. Today, I'm using unbleached flour, and letting it slow rise in the fridge for 1/2 a day after the first rise at room temp. I'm looking for a certain "chew".

Anyway, toppings are the usual "supreme" stuff. Everything but dirt.

Perfect for movie night (TCM "stars behind bars&quot . It's a guy thing.

Leftovers night again.

Baked pork chop, string beans, macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes. That is, unless TJ takes some or all to work with her.

If she does ...

This was pretty good, except my husband went a little heavy on the pepper and used a little too much hot Hungarian paprika. But a good idea and easy, one pan supper.
