I don't visit the meat department on a regular basis because of the prices. (Veggies are pretty expensive too.)
When I do buy beef, chicken, or pork, I not only go for the less expensive cuts, I use them in stir fry recipes, stews, etc. to stretch them out.
Tonight I had four quarter pound sirloins. I semi-froze them so I could slice very thin and then used the slices in a steak stir fry. Instead of four meals, I can do six, maybe eight.
