Mother Nature doesn't like Blue Apron...

it's just too hot for their packaging to hold up. At first, I blamed the UPS person thinking they were stacking the boxes with something heavy on top. We got one box that was crushed but fine inside. The next one was similar. Then the next one looked like an accordion. Most of the food inside was still intact and perfectly usable so I didn't call.

The next one was a different story. The stuff was still cold but the box was mangled and the stuff inside was crushed. I noticed some people on the website complaining of spoilage. We had a sauce that was punctured and useless and produce that was pretty smashed. I called and they refunded our money. But when it happened again we realized it's not something they changed. It's just the weather. The moisture is ruining the boxes. Looks like we'll take a break until Fall. It's a shame because they've had some really good unusual meals that we have enjoyed.

Oh well. I can hang out in the Costco refrigerated section now.

I had bad luck with Blue Apron boxes being crushed last year too, and tried Plated. Their's have been great! No crushing issues, and I've expericed zero product loss.

Just a FYI.

Condensation on cold surfaces and cardboard are not a happy combination. If they want to keep their customers in hot summers, they're going to have to switch to returnable plastic totes and that will make their product prohibitively expensive. It looks like they will have to be a seasonal service.

they may have to go Omaha Steak style, lol.

When we first started, the boxes came early in the day. Now they don't arrive until after 5 pm, sometimes later and that's a long time to be hanging out on a UPS truck.
