Excited I found this group!--Anyone successfully made brioche in a bread machine?
I'm in the mood for some brioche french toast and we don't have a bakery near us that makes a respectable one. Panera brioche buns is the closest I can find (which are pretty good, actually).
So, I'm thinking of giving it a shot. We have a Zoji bread maker, so I'm confident in IT'S ability. Saw a couple recipes, but they look like a lot could go wrong. Any one have success?

5. Please, whoever tries this recipe let us know how it turns out....
The comments after the recipe were discouraging. I fell in love with brioche in France, and would love to try making it. I do not have a nearby bakery to purchase it. The only other recipe I have found is very complicated with a lot of steps and time involved. This one looks fairly easy.

3. Sounds delicious. Also, if you have a Whole Foods nearby
they sell a packaged brioche that is very good.
When I went to France many years ago, I gained 10 lbs eating brioche and their other fabulous food! Had to work hard to lose it afterward! |

8. I live in central Wisconsin (near Green Bay)
and the only WI locations are Madison and Milwaukee. I get there probably once a month or so, so I will ABSOLUTELY grab one next time I'm in town.

4. Recipe from my favorite chef - Jacque Pepin
http://blogs.kqed.org/essentialpepin/2011/09/18/brioche/
and a video of him making it: http://blogs.kqed.org/essentialpepin/2011/09/10/episode-117-rollin-in-dough/ I love watching him - so effortless, so economical in his dialogue and movements - |
