What's for Dinner, Fri., Mar. 15, 2019

Soup and sandwiches. The soup is leek potato and the sandwiches will be a choice of chicken, egg salad, or BBQ beef on Brioche roll. Maui onion potato chips.

I'm going to heat up the pumpkin pie and have it with vanilla ice cream. Shaved dark chocolate over the top.

I'm on my own tonight, as the RG is away on a trip. He would never have sandwiches for dinner, but I kinda' like 'em so I am taking advantage.

Sliced turkey, Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato and red onion on rye bread with spicy brown mustard.

Homemade tomato & basil soup served in fat mugs.

For dessert, we'll finish the mini cupcakes left over from yesterday.

ETA: We do as you do, NJCher. When one of us is away, the other eats the foods they like that the traveler doesn't. It's a mutually beneficial arrangement, I'm sure you'll agree!

Roasted grapes in wine sauce, butter, garlic and basalmic vinegar; Italian sweet sausages, chive mash potatoes, crusty Italian bread with my roasted garlic mash with herbs, butter and olive oil for the bread....Big glass of wine on the side of course...

from scratch like my grandmother used to make. How do you get the butter in the oatmeal?

I don't use the instant packet style oatmeal cereal....I use McCann's quick cook oats.... with milk instead of water....add the butter to the finished hot oatmeal...I also like at times few walnuts, sprinkle of brown sugar ...but the raspberryiers are my favorite....

This is easy....

Ina Garten sausage and grapes....

I add the garlic ...do a quick rustic mash potatoes, roast the garlic cloves in olive oil, peal each clove, add butter and dry herbs..cover the garlic to the top in a small roasting bowl or crock which I use.......looks awful but tastes wonderful....

Turkey, Ham, Pepper Jack Cheese, Swiss Cheese, Lettuce, Cucumber Slices, Radish Slices on a Hoagie Roll with a vinaigrette dressing.

I don't think this will be enough so I'll be looking at leftovers in the fridge. I'm sure there is some mac-n-cheese casserole in there.

TJ is off to work and the FLFC is on the couch singing the blues since she left. He devoured a plate of sliced meatballs TJ baked for him last night. I tell him she is too far away to hear him, but he doesn't believe me and grouses all the louder.

it was from Plated and while that pushed my picky-eater boundaries (especially cooked radishes), it was really good.
