We're having burgers tonight on Brioche rolls. They're burgers with no beef in them, however. The RG combined ground lamb, veal, and pork. The usual Boston lettuce, sliced red onion, tomato and mayo on the rolls.
We also have Persian cucumber salad with sliced cherry tomatoes, red onion, and yellow and red pepper.
For an appetizer, it's goat cheese on some Scandinavian crackers.

(4,494 posts)I thought we would kick off with a couple of his favorites - Tabbouleh and German chocolate cake. To round out that menu we are having a baked hen and fingerling potatoes with green beans.

(38,450 posts)baked potato, sautéed asparagus, grape tomatoes halved and served w/ a homemade Italian-style salad dressing.
For my folks tonight it was parm-less chicken parm (dad is still eating low-fat), spaghetti w/ marinara and a big tossed salad. Garlic bread on the side.
I also picked a beer-can chicken my sister made for him earlier this week and make them a chicken salad w/ low-fat mayo that they can have either w/ salad or in sandwiches for lunch tomorrow. I took the carcass home to make some homemade stock for.... oh, who knows?
My guy wants me to make him some apple bread pudding... but he was picking up the milk on his way home and there's no telling what time he'll get back.
To begin, black caviar with minced onion and capers on toast with ice cold vodka on the side.
For the meal, farm-raised trout coated with olive oil and stuffed with lemon, rosemary and thyme, all steamed in an aluminum foil tent in the oven at 350º.
The fish will be accompanied by fresh linguini with fried asparagus tips, garlic, olive oil and whatever other spices grab me at the moment.
Fresh fruit for dessert.
