What's for Dinner, Thurs., April 18, 2019

Chicken sandwiches on brioche. Lettuce, provolone, sliced red onion, roasted red pepper sauce, mayo. Chicken filets are breaded and cooked already, so this will be easy. Easy is what I need during gardening season--I have about 60 seedlings to transplant into bigger pots and get to the greenhouse.

I'll prol'ly mix up some type of salad to go with this, even if it's just avocado and tomato.

Dessert: I thought this one up myself. A few Trader Joe's vanilla wafers. They are fairly low in calories being so small. Have with crystallized ginger and honeycrisp apple slices.

I'm adding some sliced bok choy, sliced mushrooms, green onions and cubed seitan for protein and some fried dumplings.
Decafe cold tea.

Caught from a lake an hour north of here. Breaded in panko crumbs, garlic powder, and salt & pepper. I set the fryer up outside on the patio since it’s nice out.

Homemade tartar sauce

Haluski. (sautéed cabbage and onion with noodles, salt & pepper)

Cold beer. Blue Moon, my husband ‘s fave

It was on sale, one of those spiral cut half hams. I'm looking forward to great bean soups soon!

I'm not sure of the complete menu as I just got home.
I do see a corn pudding and rolls rising.

Edit to add: Brussel Sprouts, stewed apples and mashed potatoes.

FLFC is eating cubes of leftover steak and pork chop and just let out a belch that was much bigger than his 6-1/2 pounds would lead you to believe possible. The windows didn't rattle, but it was close.

I have missed the tales 'o FLFC so much.

Missed you, too, of course, but FLFC is always good for end-of-the day amusement.

When he was done he grabbed one of his squeaky toys. Squeak, squeak, squeak, squeak, squeak, squeak, squeak, squeak, squeak, squeak, squeak, squeak, squeak, for about three minutes. Followed by another belch. He sometimes does that marathon squeaking after eating. I think it helps his digestion. He is now passed out.

Would get her squeak on, round 8pm. Almost set your watch to it.
I do love the FourLeggedFoodCritic stories.

with corn, black beans, onion, and spinach inside, sour cream, diced tomatoes, and green Tobasco on top.

Cooked a whole chicken in the crockpot today for quick and easy meals over the weekend.

The fillet I sauteed off last night for lunch was a SLAB! More meat than I can eat in one sitting. Had some with tomato bisque for lunch. The dill went well.

Tonight having the other part with Ceasar salad. Some pineapple tidbits along side.

Going to marinate a pirk sirloin in sweet sour/pineapple - using other part of the pineapple tidbits. That’ll be for dinner tomorrow night.
