What's for Dinner, Tues., April 30, 2019

I'm having my appetizer of chicken livers and red onion slices over it. Cats don't understand why I get an appetizer and they don't.

Tonight I'm making a steak salad with blue cheese, served over tossed greens. I crushed garlic, rosemary, and salt and spread it over the steaks. A couple dollops of olive oil and some pepper. Put plastic wrap over it and in a few hours I'll cook it over very slow heat in a cast iron skillet. It's very tender that way.

The salad greens will also have sliced cucumber, red onion, and snap peas. I'm picking lots of microgreens from my garden!

No dessert since I blew it munching on tiramisu covered almonds while walking around the Whole Foods.

on edit: I wanted to answer from yesterday about snap pea crispies. They are found in the salad section and are made from snap pea flour. However, they may not be the healthiest thing out there for crunchies on top of a salad. I bought the real thing today (real snap peas) after I read this.

An Indian dish we had delivered frequently before we left the city and moved to a small town. We missed it so much my wife tried out several recipes and eventually managed to get very close to the restaurant dish we loved. Served with Naan bread. Makes for a fantastic dinner.

baked with sliced and peeled sweet potato, onion and apple. Seasoned with salt, pepper and a little brown sugar. Think I will have asparagus for a nice vegetable. One of my favorite and easy dinners.

numbness and walking issues so I cooked today. Sick of pick me up quick meals. I made Roast Beef...poor mans prime rib ala grocerybudget.com I will serve this with mashed potatoes and asparagus. I made a red wine sauce to go over the beef...really good and simple. My youngest who hates roast beef loves the sauce so much that she devours the roast beef and as she is anemic, beef is good for her. I was going to make dessert but then ate half a box of archway gluten free cookies...so good. So now it will be strawberries and a dollop of whipped cream (I have the dairy free versions quite good) You dinner sound so good. I am going to make some Pate this weekend...use cognac and butter...seasonings..the whole deal!
