There are quite a bit of left overs from yesterday, so likely some of those

I held off on the coffee until about 1/2 hour after I ate brekkie. Didn't have quite the icky feeling I usually had. I still felt not quite right, but it wasn't as bad and it didn't last as long.
I think I was onto something with the coffee, but I also think I may need to avoid processed carbs as well, and maybe eat a smaller portion. It's almost as though my metabolism just won't take too much too early in the day.

(55,007 posts)Precision Nutrition. every two weeks we get a new habit - some are things we want to make permanent (like eating slow, 5 servings of colorful vegs/fruit every day, good sleep rituals etc) some are experiments (eat vegan for two weeks, or paleo, or do food journaling) like this one - drink only calorie-free beverages.
If I was a little more motivated and had easier access to products, I would play around with some better coffees but I can do this. I think both previous times I switched to hot tea for my morning caffeine fix. Trying to stick this out - who knows maybe it will evolve to the point I can be free of those extra calories permanently, but I doubt it. I really LIKE my shitty sweet coffee and fake creamer in the morning. It is probably a small "pleasure" that is worth it to me. Part of the lesson is being mindful of the choices we make, and enjoying the things that are really pleasurable rather than consuming mindlessly or with guilt.
