have misplaced it but have been gifted 3 homegrown cukes by my neighbor, so thinking of duplicating the recipe, as I used and enjoyed it a lot. Here's something close:

(9,819 posts)Here is another one we like, esp. since my brother has been growing those long, tender Japanese cucumbers. I usually either add dill weed or crushed caraway seeds. (my favorite is caraway)
Cucumbers in Sour Cream
Ingredients
1/2 cup sour cream
3 tablespoons white vinegar
1 tablespoon sugar
Pepper to taste
4 medium cucumbers, peeled if desired and thinly sliced
1 small sweet onion, thinly sliced and separated into rings
Directions
1. In a large bowl, whisk sour cream, vinegar, sugar and pepper until blended. Add cucumbers and onion; toss to coat. Refrigerate, covered, at least 4 hours. Serve with a slotted spoon.

(969 posts)A cucumber salad much like that was often served, but with thinly sliced onion added to the marinade.
Really loved that stuff.
