What's for Dinner, Tues., Nov. 19, 2019

Salad and pasta.

The salad is a Mollie Katzen recipe, "Israeli Salad." It has minced cucumbers, tomatoes, radishes, scallions, bell pepper, dill pickle, onion, stuffed green olives, and parsley. The dressing is olive oil and lemon. Although it doesn't call for it, I think it would be good with large couscous pearls in it so I might add that.

The RG's pasta dish is something he dreamed up himself and with which he is experimenting tonight: making bechemel sauce and mixing in basil pesto made with walnuts. The pasta cut will be penne rigate. Sounds good and I'm looking forward to it.

Dessert is warm apple pie served with a slice of cheddar cheese. Hot chamomile tea.

I'm going to order a sashimi platter with miso soup and a salad. No saki tonight since I've got to have my wits about me. Well, half of them, anyway.
