Anyone do any online reviews of their family meals?

Would have to be anonymous, I would think.

We ate at my brother's house this year again and I have had better
turkey dinners from the frozen dinner section of my local quicmart.

This year I made a recipe with cornbread dressing from Martha Stewart Living. Ugh, waste of effort. Shrike47 Nov 2019 #1

My patient family puts up with annual experiments. The turkey was OK, the potatoes were great, the cranberry relish was pretty good, the leeks were blah, the green beans too al dente, the galette pretty good.

everything else was pretty good. I have a phobia of really thick pasty gravy (not to mention fear of not having enough) and always overcompensate.

Put the 20 lb turkey in the tabletop roaster at 11:30, ate at 5:30. Did nothing at all to it except remove the extra parts (neck etc). Totally ignored it for 6 hours and it was the best turkey ever. Plus free, store promotion at Giant.

But lots of de-briefing as we like to say. However, now that we do all of it, there isn't much to complain about. We have a very different approach from my sister who used to do it and there's no stress now. Years past, we had dry, overcooked or undercooked turkey, gummy mashed potatoes, etc. plus a whole lot of REALLY good stuff too. Now? It's all good stuff.
