Bakers...HELP! I have a stupid question.

I am making chocolate bourbon pecan pies as gifts. Usually, I only make one at a time, but given the bake time is 55 minutes, it takes awhile to cook multiple pies. If I put TWO pies in at the same time, do I need to adjust my cook time? (Told you it was a stupid question!)

Thanks!

I usually bake two pies at a time. I don't adjust my bake time, but I use it for a guideline. Arkansas Granny Dec 2019 #4

regardless of what is there. However, you might want to switch them about halfway through - move the one in the back to the front and the one in the front to the back, to make sure your crusts brown evenly.

If you are baking two layers for a cake, you do not need extra time, but you do if your cake is in a Bundt or tube pan rather than in layers. Hope this helps

Your pies sound very good. I will be making cookies this evening, Mexican Chocolate Spicy Cookies. Freeze, then slice and bake when you want to bake them.

I let the "doneness" of the pie determine when I remove it from the oven. My pecan pies have a slight "jiggle" in the center when I take them from the oven. They will continue to set up after removed from the oven.

and turn the oven off at 55 mins, but leave the pies in the oven another 10 mins or so.

Pecan pies should be pulled when they have an internal temp of 200F. You may need to rotate them about 1/2 to 2/3rds of the way through baking depending on how evenly your oven heats.
