What's for Dinner, Mon., Dec. 30, 2019

Pork chops with applesauce.

Fennel salad--has grated carrots, apple, and red onion.

I might also make kiwi-cucumber salad.

Italian broad beans.

Dessert: hot white chocolate and the last of the pastries from our trip to the Portuguese grocery. What's left are some little pies with almonds on top.

If you have one that is.....

Otherwise, NYT has great food recipes. Or google “prime rib cooks illustrated”. Often find someone who posts their recipes without going to the actual site.

Good luck, and don’t overcoook....

Crab meat, Italian breadcrumbs, a beaten egg, thin slices of celery and spices get blended together then formed into patties. The Landlady(!) is a genius at pan frying so that'll be her job.

I'm going to make a cucumber, tomato and red onion salad with capers and a light vinaigrette dressing.

Fresh garlic bread and a great red wine we found in Michigan last summer.

Dark chocolate for dessert accompanied by more wine!

doctored-up frozen pizza

Tomorrow is payday, and therefore shopping day. We're pretty much out of everything.

Now the weather needs to clear enough for us to be able to get to the grocery store.

Fresh jalapenos, serranos and poblano peppers

tomatoes, lean ground beef, onion, garlic, chile powder, cumin a bit of cayenne,

about 1/2 cup of red wine

Rinsed and drained black beans (they increase the servings and lower the points)

We will have it again tonight. I may make some rice to go with it
