Related: About this forumMy new kitchen gadget!
I make a lot of recipes with tofu, but always hated extracting the moisture from the tofu using the towel/plate/brick (or something heavy) method. The brick or large can of something would invariably fall off. The other day i was watching a vegetarian cooking show and saw this tofu press. I immediately went online and purchased it. Works great! The brand of this press is Tofuture, but there may be others.

Unfortunately for me, I'm not a fan of tofu. It's a point of contention with the Landlady(!) who loves it.
In any event, good luck and happy eating!

(34,095 posts)I had to stop eating it and stop being a vegetarian while my GI tract went wonky for the last 4 or 5 years. Working my way back and was just thinking about starting to try some tofu again. It went so well with other things, added so much. Next time we have a shopping run (HA that may be a while) I will pick some up and if I can eat it I will buy this gadget. I always made a mess one way or the other trying to get the moisture out. Thank you!
