No post tonight--I wrote one but keep getting a 403 forbidden error when I try to post it.
Will post it later if I can get on.

(32,017 posts)You all lost last night. Child and I won.
But I have some leftover noodles, after making six leftover containers of spaghetti that will feed me, child, and a couple of neighbors tomorrow. Tonight the plan is this:
I am going to make a rue, and then take the pork and beef that I didnt use last night and lob it in there with some diced yellow onions, some diced roma tomatoes, and about a half of a food-processed fuji apple. I am gonna season it welloregano, fresh coriander (which I always try to keepcuts the acid), MSG, white pepper, black pepper, cumin, minced garlic, and a little salt. Then I am gonna let that cook down for an hour or so. Then I will reheat my leftover noodles, dump my new sauce on top and serve it with slices of an Italian-loaf garlic bread and slices of the other half of that Fuji apple. A glass of a rich burgundy will top off the meal.

(5,411 posts)in the refrigerated section at the grocery store. It is really good. I gave up on making my own dough because I just couldn't roll it out thin enough. So gave it a try and VOILA. Will still get pizza at our favorite place, of course, but will also do the dough boy on occasion.

(21,988 posts)The Landlady(!) found some frozen squid in our freezer so were going to make fried calamari. Shes making a sauce from the very last of our tomato crop and the last of our fresh basil. All of this will be served on linguini. Ill probably make a Caesar salad. I think we have a bottle of Chianti in the basement. Chocolates for dessert.

(32,917 posts)1.Kielbasa(I'm using a vegetarian brand)
2.Cabbage cut into chunks & cubed potato & carrots in chunks & onions slices.
3.Heat oven to 350, put everything on the heated & oiled cooking sheet, bake 15 min, rotate pan, sprinkle with dill & a bit of wine vinegar. Bake 15 more minutes, adjust spices.
I suspect that Mom created this to feed a bunch of hungry kids when her wallet was thin.
Hot decafe tea.

(32,017 posts)I am out on the vegetarian kielbasa, but if you were to put some real, fatty sausage in there, I would be asking you when you wanted me to arrive.

(5,411 posts)ultra-thin panko pork chops, steamed green beans, homemade date/cashew muffin. The chops are sold by Aldi and are quite good. I adjusted my standard muffin recipe using some brown sugar instead of all white sugar trying to replicate the old Crosse and Blackwell canned date/nut bread and they turned out pretty OK.

(32,017 posts)But those muffins sound fantastic. Let us know when you have perfected your recipe.

(4,379 posts)Had home-cooked frozen burgers on buns with take-in waffle fries we most appreciate last night; take in Greek gyros the night before that; there's only two chicken thighs and a bit of sauce left from the cook at home Monday Marsala and rice night.
But, ta-da-da, yesterday I made the updated youtube video version of a recipe for a InstaPot New York Style cheesecake, now hopefully "cured" in the fridge to perfection (We confess, we did snitch a taste at the 4-hour point which is apparently entirely allowed under the rules presented by the video baker), LOL!
Vino, anybody?

(15,088 posts)Recycled leftovers, really. I stir fried leftover chicken with some peppers that were getting a bit soft and covered it all with bottled sweet and sour sauce. Pretty good, though.
