What's for Dinner, Sat., Nov. 21, 2020

Italian sausage on Brioche rolls with onions, red and green peppers.

Potatoes (kind of mashed, but not quite) with parsley.

Green salad with radishes, apple, celery, and walnuts.

Dessert is coconut cake made in the slowcooker. On top, either ice cream or whipped cream and shredded coconut. Ginger tea.

Butternut-ginger squash soup. Whole wheat mac and cheese, both made in the instant pot.

just baked w/ some bread crumbs, dill, lemon zest and butter

rice pilaf, which I am making homemade (a first effort). I had a flavor packet left from a pkg of shrimp ramen noodles, and I'm using that to flavor the water that I cook the rice in.

sauteed zucchini

sliced tomatoes

No baking. Still trying to ration my eggs and butter for Thanksgiving dinner. There are some apples and some grapes in the fridge if we go looking for a sweet.

(I took my turkey out of the freezer today. Takes up a lot of room in the fridge. Going to have to cook in a thrifty manner--there's no room in the fridge for leftovers.)

with some local lettuce that looks like frisee, but isn't. Also tomatoes, basil, cucumber, red bell pepper and red onion. Dressing is lemon juice, a little sugar, fish sauce and garlic. We forgot to chill wine so had Leinenkugel Canoe Paddle Kölsch.
