Can peonies and clematis coexist? Does anyone have experience with this?

I have a peony on my garden that I THOUGHT was a Sarah Bernhardt, but it is a single flower pink one. The sweet little imposter now needs to be transplanted from my front garden, and I am wondering I I can't plant it in front of some clematis i have.
