1. Excellent advocacy for native plants.

I have found that there are so many great local plants since I have become more aware of the importance of native plants. And I can still put a few of those gorgeous Asiatic Lilies in the garden without having any effect on the local wildlife. You don't have to turn your back on every import to make a great place for your natural fauna.
