Redbuds are plentiful in NY parks. I find them most beautiful when the buds are formed but not yet opened. The buds look like strings of colored pearls strewn on tree branches.

There are arrows painted on streets guiding people around town for all the sights. The dogwood, azalia, redbud, tulips etc. are all in full bloom. People plant their yards to outdo each other for prizes. Each yard is a sea of color. Absolutely beautiful.

on the south-facing side of one of my hedgerows this year. They are leafing out right now. I can’t wait for the first year that they bloom! I have no idea how many years that might take.
