I checked back to prior years records, and this is the earliest I have had crocuses blooming---March 5. The earliest before that was March 11, and usually about March 15. Almost two weeks ahead of a normal year.....but I ain't complaining.

The azaleas are mostly finished, the dogwoods are in full flower, the redbuds are blooming. And oh joy, the oaks are in full bloom. Hello, allergy season!

... oh well, they're tough little buggers, they'll be alright. Sure is great to see them.

But spring seems to be 45 days early this year.

at the end of March in central Ohio. WE had a sudden cold front come through - I think temps dropped to about 10 degrees. As it happened, it froze so fast that when the thaw came, the daffodils were fine - they'd flash frozen and thawed with no damage!
