I am always holding my breath when I watch the videos, because DB often catches me off-guard.

(Although to be fair, the cry-baby videos are always touching, but don't tell DB that.)

I am always weary or what type of person you are.

I don't have ONE friend or family member who does not love animals in general! I intend on keeping it this way!

I do love this group!

I try to overlook that for the occasion of our encounter if it isn't thrown in my face. And I'd certainly never hold the owner's politics against the dog. Although funny thing: occasionally in summer when it was still daylight til almost 9, I'd be sitting outside with the chows when bedtime rolled around. The alpha, Freedom, always set up a several minute sociable bark fest directed to me when I announced 'we're closing, girls.'

Anyway, on one such occasion a fairly nice neighbor lady happened to be out for her evening stroll, and I mentioned to her that I sometimes wondered exactly what Freedom was saying. The lady pretended surprise and said, "Don't you know? She's a Republican and she's explaining politics to you!"

Well, considering we were sitting close to that year's presidential campaign sign, I found it pretty funny. Cackled so much it was hard to pretend to be offended.

And I find this to be a very knowledgeable group. I've gotten good advice before on issues relating to my cats and dogs!

With the Obama-bashing and the drama thereof, when I come to this thread, it's like a vacation from all the stress that our crazy world brings.

We help. We love. We grieve for each other. No politics, arguments, just good advice.

And with Stinky looking out for us, it's all good.

Thanks for finding us. Always here to help.

Away from Pets, sometimes the ride's bumpy. Road's full of potholes dug by trolls. The threads can on occasion resemble demolition derbies. But I'm sure you know how to navigate the rapids already. On a website dedicated to progressive support, there's a certain contingent that's anything but. You will also find as I have some of the more beautiful minds and souls around.

Anyway I like to think of Pets as the garden spot.

I first joined at the end of 2003 - I had a different nic then. Took part in the 2004 Ohio recount, then lost my Mom that summer and got away from posting for 5 months. When I tried posting again, I forgot my password, so I had to join with a new nic. My post count is low because I go in spurts... when there's a crisis or election, I'll post everyday for two weeks, then may not post again for months. But I always check in. And I'm one of those people who uses ignore liberally, so I stay out of skirmishes.
