to make it to the food dish.

I have the list of places to sleep whittle down to four spots: On the top of the back of the couch, on top of the temporary closet in the bedroom, one chair in the bedroom and last, but not least, the bed itself! She loves the plush fleece throw on top so that she can knead her paws before she snuggles.

boxer has figured out how to get under the covers by herself. If I can't find her, look for a lump on the sofa under a blanket or on the bed under the covers...

And kneads. Preferably (to her) the most sensitive spots on the body. "Oh, is that boob? Let's dig a claw into that!"

Thanks, kitty. I needed four claw marks RIGHT there because you are cold.

Ever since they've been going out in the yard (a massive flea infestation that we licked drove them outside), they've been wanting to go out since. Now that it's too cold to let them out, all they've been doing is eating and sleeping.

I can't wait for this cold wave to break. My cats are driving me batty.

And it has sleeted all day, and hasn't really gone above freezing. My cat is very much short-haired and not in any way equipped to deal with the cold since we typically have a hot-and-humid, hot-as-hell-and-humid, and oh wow, I can go outside without feeling like I'm breathing soup, kind of climate. I know considering what others in the country are facing, it seems like small potatoes to complain, but it's frickin' cold out!

and we're in Polar Vortex Central. Lows in the single digits, sometimes even subzero lows, and highs barely in the teens.

My cats, especially my big boy Max, loves the cold, but he hates all that wind and snow.

It's been bloody evil outside. I don't remember it ever being this cold before. Temps in the teens, sure, but single digits and even zero and nasty winds on top of that? Hell on earth. I hate, hate, hate it.

Of course, when summer comes I'll once again be complaining about the humidity.

A POX on this damn WIND! Bad enough without any wind at all, but add in even a slight breeze and your whole head freezes in seconds so it feels like a block of wood.

He is eating and sleeping. Just like every day. Of course, he is an indoor cat who doesn't go out often, and the house is warm enough so that he doesn't have to think about the cold. Every morning, when I am leaving for work, I wish I had his life. But someone has to bring home the cat food.

or on top of the refrigerator (where I have placed a cat bed). One of them tried to go outside the other day, but after a few steps onto the snowy porch she turned around and dashed back inside. She had a look on her face like she was blaming me for the cold and snow.

Of course, this is Minnesota, where there is cold and snow every year, but I think the cats forgot about that.

fussing to go outside, rushing out of the door, sniffing, then rushing back inside. Then they look at you like it's YOUR fault it is too cold to go out!

This is the first REAL snowfall that Yoshi has gotten a chance to experience (like at least a foot of the crap). He's in heaven and can hardly contain himself. He NEVER wants to come back in the house even when it's a damn blizzard outside, and all week he's wanted walks like 10 times a day so he can go mess up other peoples' snow. He's a winter weather breed, but still... it's like he's fallen crazy in love or something.

I keep forgeting to get the camera out when he's going berserk in the snow especially since Max, the puppy next door, is also having the time of his life in the snow. With him being so much smaller with the amount of snow we got he was running around his yard like a nut competely covered by it because it was so deep for him. He couldn't figure out how to do a poopy squat without his butt sinking in the snow, so I went over and stamped out an area for him to do his squating in. Man, I wish I had gotten some film of that... he wouldn't go when every time he tried to squat to poop his tush sank into the snow, and he'd look behind him like "What the hell???".
