i'm probably going to have to wait until monday for formerly fat cat's labs

we went in yesterday for a check up and a blood draw. she's down to 6.5 pounds again and it's breaking my heart. i brought up the possibility of diabetes and we'll see what the labs say. the dreaded c word also came up (possibly parathyroid). they also want to do a heart and abdominal x-ray since her heart beat is so pronounced, but that's going to have to wait until we can scrape up the money.

i was supposed to get the results today, but they had a gas leak and are likely closed until monday. i have some new kidney food coming, too, and i'm hoping she takes to it.

it's going to be a long weekend.

As to cancer, I have been told that thyroid cancer is very rare in cats, so the chances of that are slim. Usually, a cat losing weight due to thyroid problems will eat just about anything since they are always starving. Let's not worry about all the things this could be. Just wait for the lab results to see if that gives answers and take it one step at a time.
