My fear of the "war on drugs" and my dog (somewhat light-hearted, and not)

I was pulling into the parking lot at work earlier this week and happened to look over in the passenger seat of my shamefully messy car, and realized that the baggie of dehydrated, buffalo tripe, dog treat crumbs left-over from the weekend’s dog agility trial, looked frightening like “whack-backy”. OMG! I could be arrested if the police saw that!

One of the last things I want to do is have to look at an officer and say “it’s not mine! It belongs my Border Collie, she was hitting that stuff all weekend, right in front of God, German Shepherds, and everybody”, (those German Shepherds always seem to have law enforcement connections). Lord knows he wouldn’t buy it, I’d either be in the big-house or the dog-house. My canine partner probably wouldn’t even try to bail me out, she’s like that, not even a pure-bred, and came from the shelter! She figures she can get a better handler anyway, especially with the tripe gone; anything to feed her demons.

Seriously, it did look illegal, and the “War on Drugs” does literally scare the tripe out of me! I grabbed that baggie and stuffed in my purse, with the countless poop bags and my wallet. I remembered the poor woman that got arrested for the pudding spoon in the car. I am glad my doggie gets nervous when I drive too fast, it keeps me from speeding much with her in the car. I also worry about getting pulled over and her getting shot for barking (she's a barker, she is in the same class with Shelties on noise, as well as agility jump height). I worry a LOT where my precious girl is concerned. She really is the light of my and my husband's lives.
