We adopted a dog!

This is my new best friend, Murphy.

My Mom's friend had a hospital stay, and when he came home, he said we could keep the pooch for whom we'd been dogsitting. (He's a cool person, he was just very tired from the health thing and we understand that.) So, everybody, meet our poodle Murphy!

19. Good for you! And poodles are great dogs.

You probably know this, but just in case. . . you need to use a wire brush instead of a regular dog brush to get through that fur. And when you take him to the groomer, short hair like that is called a "puppy cut" or a "kennel cut."

30. I know a great big poodle named Murphy...

he thinks he's a small dog and will sit on your lap which basically means he traps you to the couch. He has the best personality. Hope your Murphy does too!

Poodles are the complete comedian dog in my experience. They are SOooo smart, and they have definitely figured out that if they can get you to laugh, they're going to get away with whatever mischief they've gotten into. AND get treats.

Keep Murphy busy and interested, and you'll never have a better, more fun buddy!

and so smart. We have a black standard poodle named Gabby, and she is just the best dog we've ever owned. My husband always says that she's way too smart for us. Be prepared to be entertained!
