I am so disappointed to learn this! Chewy.com has been a great place to buy pet food over the past several years. Petsmart was bought out by a large conglomerate in 2014, and has steadily gone downhill in customer service and pricing. Hate to see fewer options for pet lovers such as myself.

(17,276 posts)It's been my favorite place to shop for cat food. If they would start offering Petsmart's Authority line of foods, I'd be happy.

(15,220 posts)I run a rescue and I can order large amounts easily and without nosy questions from others in line at retail stores. Chewy's customer service has always been phenomenal.

Recently the mfg discontinued one of the foods we buy. I sent Chewy an email asking for recommendations for a replacement, as one of our dogs has some very specific requirements. I got a personal email back within 2 hours. I researched the ones suggested and they did, indeed, meet all of our requirements. Late that afternoon I placed an order. The next morning our order was sitting on our porch! I sent them an email praising the Customer Service. I not only got an email back thanking me for my note, but about a week later I got a handwritten snail mail thanking me again for my note.
Please, Chewy, don't change!

(15,220 posts)Chewy has been fabulous! I run a rescue and order large amounts from them frequently. I've only had problem with one shipment and they fixed it immediately.
I've heard many similar stories like the one you describe where Chewy stepped in with a personal involvement and solved a problem for a pet. I hate to see that lost. I know of one instance where someone stopped their auto shipment because their dog died, and they received a sympathy flower arrangement from Chewy.
You should read all the comments on their Facebook page!
I think they were, to some degree, a "mom and pop" in that they were able to build their operation without a lot of overhead. But we all know that it won't be the same with a corporate master in charge. Petsmart was, at one point, a decent company. But no longer. I rarely go there anymore whereas many years ago, my "Petperks" card was worn and ragged from use!
It's a sad day.

Needless to say, I too have been using them. I found them quite recently however. Their prices are less than any other place to be found where I live!
