then, when we realized it was ALL rubber stuff, I put my bowling ball on the floor. You should have seen this twelve-pound wiener dog pushing around a fifteen-pound ball (Shame it was before videophones became a thing).

in the most wonderful of ways...or not. My BC, Tag, loses his dog mind whenever we are fishing. He is fixated on lures or flies and absolutely can't cope when our rods are out. He's especially crazy when a fish is landed. Tag's half brother, Henry, is fixated on shadows and rain. Gloriously delirious border collies. ❤️

11. Did you, like me, ASSUME it would be a Border collie, & then feel great pride when it proved to be?

Mine herd the squirrels away from the bird feeders (on command)

I just knew it would be a BC. I've had 3 border collies in my adult life. After each one has left me for the rainbow bridge, I swear I'm not going to get another one and then I miss the chaos, the mischievous black and white bundle of trouble and I jump in again with both feet.

15. We'll always have one (or more)!

We have two, Jenny and Molly. Jenny is Molly’s great-aunt. A lovely connection we have to the wider, wonderful world of Border collies is that my brother, who’s a horse trainer, has raised a small number of Border collies for many years. My sisters and I all have and/or have had our own, all from his stock, and all of them related (not overly-close; he definitely knows what he's doing). Just a couple of weeks ago, we had a small family reunion, and there were eight Border collies there, all related. Here’s something most dogs don’t get to do after they find their new home: Molly got to visit both her mother and father!

He'd do this all day.
He also used to drop his tennis ball in the pool right where the jet was then let it get to the other side, jump in after it and repeat, repeat, repeat... he figured that out shortly after the pool was installed. I think he thought the pool was for him.

LOL.... my cousin used to borrow my dachshund because he's ride on a raft or surfboard, and was perfect "girl bait". He (my pup) also like to body surf. Tenth Street South, Cocoa Beach, Florida, and my pup was my 11th birthday gift! I still miss him.
