Pissing off the cats

All 3 of them got their nails trimmed

1. Did you do it yourself?

This is the first cat I cannot do, even with help. She has to go to vet to get trimmed and "Soft-Pawed." At least the Soft Paws last up to six weeks.

2. I stopped trying to do that. It was too dangerous.

6. Do one paw. The next day do the other paw. That way a paw is done before

cat is any wiser. And I only do Hughey's. Twilight gets to keep her claws as Hughey sometimes bullies her and I want her to be able to swat him good. Which she does on occasion.

3. One of mine is so

laid back that I can use the dogs nail grinder. Odd little fella, it takes a lot to upset that one. I actually don't think he gets upset. He twitters and tweets at us and rarely actually meows. I love my little Kofie. The others flee and fight back when they think I am going to do anything other than giving them food, catnip or scratches. Cats, what amazing animals they are.

4. My husband

has always trimmed our cats nails, some easier than others. He found if he catches them right after they have been napping and aren’t quite awake they aren’t quite as combative.

5. Flirting with disaster you are

Unless you count the last time I gave her a bath 8 years ago....

She's an inside cat these days, luckily I don't have to bathe her anymore.

I still have scars, physical and mental, she ain't "Kittymonster" for nothing.

But she has gone mellow, luckily.

7. Started doing The Feline Overlord's weekly when he was a kitlet.

He doesn't exactly enjoy the ordeal, but with encouragement, greenie treats, and the occasional chance to draw a little blood, he manages to survive it.

8. I took mine to the vet for that

I really wish I could do it myself. I did get him as a kitten, but he was not exactly cuddly - I found him in a grocery store parking lot and needed a lot of help just to catch him. He's much better now, not exactly a lap cat (though I still have hopes), but the vet can manage it much better than I can - he's an expert and my Felix is a little intimidated after a (short) ride in the car...

9. I clip my kitties nails also.

My girl fights it so I have to put her between me and the arm of the chair. My boy just lets me do it with a really disgusting expression on his face and a struggle or two. My cats have 4 different scratchy things in my one bedroom apartment to scratch so clipping does not have to be done a lot and no need to file them.
