(54,770 posts)Sometimes, I only get a couple of paws before they get mad. I let em go, they'll be back for another nap.
On the other hand, I have scars all over my arms from trying to bathe cats. The last time I did it to a cat with long claws, I ended up with the cat hooked on my arm with his claws through my skin like fishhooks.

(32,829 posts)Dixie will sleep on/with me, her sister Shaw is really channeling her feral parents, and would prefer to observe me from a distance. I do have cardboard scratchers& catnip.

(7,990 posts)and get Soft Paws applied at the same time. Soft Paws last for about a month if put on correctly.

(22,671 posts)I don't cut their back paw claws anymore though. Most problems occur with the front paws.

(32,829 posts)I want her to get used to touch. Her sisfur, Shaw, really isn't a cuddly cat. I trimmed her rt front paw, I was wearing 2 longsleve sweatshirts as I clipped.
When Dixie was getting trimmed, she was growling, Shaw raced over to check on Dixie, that is how I managed to catch Shaw to trim her front paw.
