Babies are in

The four kittens were born outside and have lived their first 12 weeks out there, with some excursions into the great indoors. But we have to teach them to be inside cats so yesterday I cleaned out the spare room and turned it over to them .

Princess, the mom, was so funny. She's been outside her entire 3 years although she has spent many hours staring longingly through the patio door. Now she finally got to come in and she went into every room looking at everything. When she finally saw her room and got a look at herself in the full-length mirror there, she started purring like crazy and strutting all around with her tail in the air.

This morning, I am surrounded by kitties bouncing off the walls and each other. I must say, this is a great way to escape feelings of anger and disgust with our sham of a government and just enjoy the moment.

And now, they're off to the vet for a grand adventure. And a bit of snipping.

Thanks to everyone who has helped. There are more kitties who need rescuing so our GFM account is still open.

A litter of kittens are so much fun to watch. We gave them cardboard box jungle gyms and mazes. Some times they'd nod off in the midst of their play in the most unusual positions.

Thanks for the post.

doggies are great, too! Not enough room here for one right now, though. So we just have to settle...

He was in really bad shape, scabs all over from fleas and probably a flea allergy, missing fur, enflamed skin. gave him a good bath and put flea medicine on him. Tomorrow he goes to the vet. We have 2 old cats not in the best of health, 15 and 16, so will probably keep him in the spare room for a couple of weeks. I'm really amazed that an adult cat (guessing around 2 years) is adjusting so well.
Think hes a very mellow and sweet guy, hopefully I'm right and he won't harass the oldlsters.

I have a 2 year old feral mom who had kittens at the end of April. She brought them in to my garage the last week in May. There were 3 of them in various shades of grey. They all are feral, but I plan to do what you have done. The only exception is this last Saturday I went out to feed the kittens and found a tiny yellow kitten peeking out of the garage. No mom or siblings to be found. Still don't know he found my garage. He is smaller than BG's babies, but is scrappy and persistent. After three days, he is slowly making a place for himself. He had conjunctivitis when I found him. Started everyone on an antibiotic. Today he looks pretty good and is a GREAT eater. Never a dull moment here. I will be thinking of you and your fur babies as I work with mine.

One of mine (the one on top in pic. 1) is an adoptee. It was pouring rain and we heard cries from the next yard. Found her on a small mound, surrounded by an ever-deepening puddle. Looked to be a couple weeks younger than ours. So we brought her home and added her to the bunch. Princess didn't mind and seemed to have a spare spigot. Kitties are amazing that way. This is not the first time I've seen this happen.

It's wonderful you've given them a chance to move into a safer world indoors.

Hoping each one will have a loving home, and friends.
