This is hilarious. My old dog acted so much like that when we tried boots on him to help him grip the floor better and help with his mobility issues. He wouldn't have it. His back legs kept kicking out. After 2-3 difficult attempts at steps, he rolled over on his back and wouldn't walk anymore. Probably would have worked a whole lot better if he wasn't so dang old at the time.

These are great when you are taking your dog someplace really hot. We saw several dogs wearing them when we were at Disney last Aug. and it was screaming hot.

Their pads are made of a similar substance that's in Penguin wings. They are more at risk from frostbite on their ears and tails.

It has nothing to do however for warmth. It has to do with the ice balls that can form between their toes and pads and road salts and deicers which are toxic to dogs. They also help prevent slipping on the ice ( which they do just as humans do. ) These police dogs are out on patrol and have to encounter these things while out of the patrol car.

over salted streets and sidewalks when it snows. Boots would be great, if the dog would wear them.

I remember I learned young and had to carry the dog before she started crying.
