We had to say goodbye to our sweet buddy today

Verdell the dog was the greatest friend ever. My wife and I are devastated but we knew it was coming. Ugh, the price our hearts pay for caring about our little ones. True story, I went home everyday for lunch to let Verdell out and everyday I would tell him exactly what time I would get home. If I was late he would bark at me and ignore me for an hour. Goodnight sweet prince until we meet again.

I am in mourning too.....my beloved 14 year old cat went missing a couple of weeks ago; I was able to confirm yesterday he was killed by a coyote. I am so heart-broken, I cannot believe he is gone.

Your little guy was very cute. I am sorry for your loss. Two of my four cats are 14 now, so I dread the short lived of our friends. Mine normally reach 18-20, but that seems awfully close to me.

11. We lost our last dog in 2004

All the small white dogs I've met since then smile at me and immediately act as if they know me. The first few years after she left us, I honestly felt her leap on our bed and lay down. My husband thought I was crazy, but one day, he felt her too. She doesn't come as often, but she let me know she was out there. I like to think the small white dogs I meet are channeling her lovely spirit. You'll meet your beloved Verdell again someday, but I doubt he will leave your side. Or your heart. Blessings
