Last month we lost one of our doxies.

She died of Lymphoma, it was very quick, she got sick in late March and was gone by the first week in June. She was my heart. I have had a lot of dogs in the past, but this one was special. She was a sassy bitch, she cared for me when I was sick, she followed me everywhere after my back surgery, she loved me unconditionally. We made the choice to help her to the rainbow bridge, and it was the hardest decision I have ever made in my life.

I still feel her around me sometimes, I know that sounds odd, and I dream about her. I have her two "kids" who are mourning her as well.

I really feel she was my "soul dog", loved her so much....

1. My condolences. When I lost my 17 yr old dog I felt like I had part of my heart amputated.

Every morning I wake up and expect to see her on my bed. She's never there, but I keep on hoping. Take good care.

17 days after stopping eating at 8 years old. That was 15 years ago: June 29, 2004.

5. Sincerest sympathy. I have a soft spot for Doxies. They are smart as hell and sassy as can be.

its so hard to express the deep connection....
but it is not odd, to dream and feel the ones that leave us behind.
I know what you are saying...

I, too, have had very real dreams about my dogs that have passed and I welcome them. You gave her a great life.
