Related: About this forumCan anyone recommend a non-dusty cat litter?
Ive been using Publix generic cat litter. Inexpensive, relatively, but it generates tons of dust. Im thinking of trying tidy cat clumping (the one that comes in a container.)
I realize that the non-destiny ones are going to be more expensive. But I live in a one bedroom apartment and Id rather pay the higher price and have less dust.
Any recommendations?

(113,043 posts)Ive used both and the exquisicat paper pellets is the one I prefer. Yesterdays News pellets arent always available. Exquisicat I find at PetSmart.

(18,639 posts)It's about $7 for 40#. Compare to Feline Pine's price. Same stuff.

(9,821 posts)bag and put it into the garbage bin. Pee turns the pellets into sawdust and we are fortunate enough to have a place on our property where we can dump that. It does take quite some time to break down.

(4,168 posts)A few brands offer a light-weight version of their litter, and we've had to give it up because of the dust.

(4,460 posts)and have not been disappointed. Every other "low dust" product I tried just about choked me.

(2,410 posts)My girl uses Clump and Seal Slide, which produces little dust and is sold in supermarkets as well as pet stores.
Of course, you could go all the way and get Fresh Step or other crystal litter.

Best of luck with the search!

(5,167 posts)I moved temporarily to an apartment complex that is more like living in a hotel; there is no air circulation. I keep the temperature controls on all the time. I have to keep windows closed for precaution with the cats.
Never realized how dusty the litter is. I use Arm and Hammer multi cat and the clumping type. I am going to switch. This dust is making me sick.
