A Valentine present for my rescued pup, Hal.

He has an appointment to get a locator chip. 'Cause he loves to run out the door and sit at the bottom of the stairs looking up at us. See what a good boy I am.

He is also being neutered on the 14th.

Hopefully Hal will become less aggressive after the neutering. In_The_Wind Feb 2020 #17
There are GPS trackers you can attach to a collar next to his dog tags irisblue Feb 2020 #15
I'll look for information about one of those. In_The_Wind Feb 2020 #16

He turned out to be a Terrier mix. Not my first choice since we also have a house full of birds.

He thinks the Blue and Gold Macaw should be a playmate. Miss Frodo, the Macaw, teases him with her bell. This interaction worries me.

the farthest they get from their favorite snoozing spots is the inside hallway outside of my apartment. But you never know. Good luck on the 14th!

When the weather warms up I'd like to take him to a 'dog park' to play off the leash. At this time his only free time is inside or on my back deck.

Pretty handy thing to have. I wish they'd had them when I was growing up. Dachshunds move fast and they like to get out of the house.

from the hospital. I'm surprised there isn't already an industry built up around it. "Keep your kids safe until they turn eighteen!"

I haven't added any apps to my phone yet.

Terriers are quick. He has almost yanked me off my feet a few times. My solution was to buy a Joyride Harness and a non retractable leash.

He weighs 19 pounds.

I watch for cars and walk him away from the street when I see or hear one approaching.

Good luck. The chips aren't expensive.
